Hi all,
We have had lots of discussions about this area and it
was identified as one of the most important topic to solve in modile Java
application area. The fragmentation as a topic is very wide and is having many
aspects. On one hand it is to get information about the differences in
different implementations. In that area one solution could be Device Information
database. On the other hand it is a solution for a coding/building time.
How to create different variants? In that are we have had discussions
related e.g. to pre-processing and creating different builds with different
resources (images, sounds, etc).
When we discussed about this in San Francisco it was agreed
that maybe it is not possible to solve this whole problem in next MTJ release
but we definetely should get something in that area.
After saying that I would like to propose that Rauno would
modify a bit that part in Wiki. It could be example
Fragmentation solution
- Tool(s) for build time
- Device information solution

The fragmentation was listed but I used term 'Device Information Database'. The 'Database' shouldn't be
read literally here.

I had fragmentation on the list from our meeting. Can we look at putting
this document into the wiki and use that as the discussion forum. You only
need a bugzilla account to do updates
there.
