[cross-project-issues-dev] Feedback requested: default indicator for unsaved changes in Eclipse tabs

Eclipse 4.40 introduced an alternative indicator for unsaved changes in view and editor tabs: instead of a leading asterisk in the tab title, the tab's close button is overlaid with a bullet, similar to how VS Code and other modern editors function.

Since 4.41 M1 this is the default, while users can switch back to the classic asterisk with a single click in `Preferences > General > Appearance`.

A non-binding community poll is open to gather broader feedback on whether this should remain the default or revert to the classic asterisk:

If you have an opinion on this change, your input is very welcome.
The poll is open until 15 August 2026.

Thanks for taking a look!
