[cross-project-issues-dev] CDT 12 contributions to SimRel

Hi cross project devs,

Eclipse CDT is planning on contributing a new major version of CDT for 2025-03 release.

See the CDT 12 N&N as it gets populated.

I will contribute an initial milestone of CDT 12 to SimRel soon, hopefully in time for 2025-03 M1. But the CDT project expects to do many more changes, some of them breaking changes. We are trying to avoid breaking changes that are likely to affect downstream API consumers, unless there is a significant + justifiable advantage to introducing them. In particular we are trying to pay attention to the downstream projects that contribute to SimRel (see screenshot from the simrel aggran below).  If there is another downstream project of CDT you think we should consider, please let me know.
