Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Sad News

I am sorry to hear that. Please pass on my condolences to Kit's family and colleagues here in Eclipse Community, at IBM and elsewhere.

Please take the time to enter your thoughts on Eclipse's memorial page too https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/memorials - I have started the entry (waiting for merge) in https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/memorials/-/merge_requests/12 based on Pradeep's words.

Dear Friends,

I have a sad news to share.

Kit Lo, Technical Lead for IBM Eclipse SDK, based out of IBM RTP lab, passed away on Saturday, Feb 26th. He was on a routine run on Saturday and collapsed on the way. Kit has been with IBM for 32+ years, working in various roles and different teams. In the past decade, Kit was the lead for Translation / Globalization efforts across various products. About 5 years ago, Kit took up the IES Technical Lead role. Kit was a very hard worker, continuous learner and always willing to go the extra mile to help those in need. Kit was also very active in Eclipse Open Source Community. He was the co-lead for Eclipse Babel project (community driven translation of strings in Eclipse distribution) and in the past year, he also took up the additional role of Eclipse IDE Release Engineer.

We in the Eclipse team in IBM, are still trying to come to terms with the fact that Kit is no longer with us. Kit was a great friend, mentor and guide for those who worked closely with him. We are lucky to have worked with him. Kit will be sorely missed.

Pradeep
