Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] ACTION REQUIRED from RAP / REDDEER / WEBTOOLS - respin of Eclipse Platform RC2a and the status on removing slf4j 2.0.0 alpha

Hi folks,

The simrel aggregator is done now and the contents look good. I am now running the EPP which should be ready later today - see epp-dev mailing list for when it is ready.

Thanks everyone!
Jonah

Thanks Sravan, that helped keep them out of our build. I removed snapshot repository references from our site as well and rebuilt everything.  Our RC3a has exactly the versions of Jetty and SLF4J intended and has been contributed.

It took some time for me realize the problem with WTP.

Here is what is happening. WTP uses https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.20-I-builds/ to fetch platform. This link is a composite p2 repository having last 5 successful builds. This also means if you use this link one can get jetty 10.0.5.SNAPSHOT versions as they are there in previous build(I20210610-1250). So WTP build is resolving jetty bundles against previous build(I20210610-1250)  and mirroring them into WTP repository.

There are two options to fix this

  1. WTP to use specific build
  2. Platform to remove previous build (I20210610-1250) from composite

I removed I20210610-1250 from composite now. Please check if the jetty mirroring problem is resolved with WTP.

Thanks

Sravan

It's possible that our own update didn't work its way through as I thought. Rebuilding.

We use https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.20-I-builds/ ; it would have shown up there, yes?

Hi Nitin

There is something amiss about the contribution, https://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R3.22.0/S-3.22.0.RC3-20210612014426/repository has a mixture of snapshot and non snapshot jetty bundles. The snapshot ones look like the ones that platform produced for the test build yesterday.

Did webtools rc3 use platform RC2 final repo as input?

Thanks,

Jonah

WTP's RC3 (there was a small code change that had to be made to use the new SLF4J API bundle name) is now contributed, and our Jetty 10.0.5 site should be the only one anyone else refers to in their build if they're using it--it will not be contributed. We are pulling in the SLF4J API bundle into our main site, which is contributed via the aggrcon file.

Thanks Kit and Nitin,

At the moment the aggregator is broken because the temporary repo that simrel pointed to for webtools to test Jetty 10.0.5 snapshot is not available anymore. This will be resolved once webtools update their contribution. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Thanks folks.

WTP's Jetty site is ready, the rest of WTP needs a gerrit merged and then some time to build.
