Hi all,

There are some changes going on on the EPP side to deal with some troubles of viisble sites or not.

The fundamental issue is that EPP is downstream of SimRel, and it adds some extra content that are not in SimRel site (JustJ specifically). EPP publishes a site that we want to work for product updates and installer; while the EPP site is then composited into SimRel, so the extra content from EPP -that may not be desirable for SimRel- now become visible to SimRel while not really desirable for consumers of SimRel (eg RCP product developers).
I thought Jonah was solving this problem and already has a "fix" for it?

My proposal to make all that simple would be to simply remove the EPP site as a composite of SimRel; and instead add in the EPP packages and installer a direct reference to the EPP site additionally to SimRel.

The whole community currently uses things like https://download.eclipse.org/releases/latest/ for one stop shopping for updates.   Surely changing that is not a good solution to an internal/interim releng issue.

With that, we get a more proper separation and I don't think we'd lose anything in term of usability.

So the big question is: would it hurt if we stop SimRel referencing EPP site?
I think so yes.

Cheers
