Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Wrong SWT fragment installed in 3.8 build

There shouldn't be any change in the /eclipse/updates/3.8 repository since late September when 3.8.1 was released. I
poked around the repository on the file system and I can't see anything that has changed since September 26.

On November 28 the folder /home/data/httpd/download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/3.8-M-builds appeared (I *think* it was renamed from something else). But we do *not* refer to this composite or anything inside it.

Have you changed what version of p2 is being used in your builds?
I'm not aware of any p2 change that could cause this,
but on the other hand I would think the version of p2 being used in your build wouldn't change from week to week anyway.

Hard to tell but it's possible. We use latest p2 director to install latest Buckminster: http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/products/director_latest.zip

We use latest Buckminster to build and in fact on November 28 a new Buckminster version became available: http://archive.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/archivedsites-4.2

As a test I unpacked the previous Buckminster version and used it to build. That had no impact on the build failure, it still fails.

Maybe you can enter a bug somewhere with more details like the name of job, what it is installing, how it fails, etc.

As I don't know who/what causes the problem I've submitted this bug against ourselves: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=395782

I noticed that Manuel Garcia (cc'ed) reported a very similar problem with SWT fragments (but with Tycho rather than Buckminster) here in this list on November 29 (1 day after our problem started). I wonder if that can be related...

I've run out of ideas and need help ;-)

Cheers
