Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] problems updating from Helios SR1 to SR2

I reproduced the problem on Windows 7 32-bit.

-          Install Classic SDK 3.6.1

-          Disable Helios repos, add Staging repos from Markus

-          Help > Check for Updates

-          “Eclipse SDK 3.6.2” is found; press Next, licenses are shown as expected

-          When it starts installing, it terminates with “An error occurred while collecting…” as sent by Markus

What seems to be missing is pretty much all new bundles that should be installed.

Another thing I noticed was that taking the toplevel “Eclipse SDK” Feature (org.eclipse.sdk.ide  3.6.2.M20110210-1200) and pressing the “More…” button in the UI, the dialog that comes up says “No copyright information provided”.

Subject: [cross-project-issues-dev] problems updating from Helios SR1 to SR2

Hi all,

one of my last tests before a release is always the same: I am trying to update from one version to another. Usually that did work without any problems in the past and that is why I did it that late in the process.

Unfortunately I had some problems with the EPP packages, but I can reproduce it with the Classic/SDK - I wasn't able to update this one either.

p2 is complaining that it cannot find some artifacts:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile="" phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=""> No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.ant.core,3.2.201.v20110203_r362
No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.ant.core.source,3.2.201.v20110203_r362
No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.ant.launching,1.0.1.v20101020_r362

(But I checked that they are available!)

In order to reproduce this you need to add the following not yet visible repositories locations:

Platform Linux 64 bit, Eclipse Classic SDK Helios SR1 (3.6.1)

Did I miss something or is this a real error that will hit others (and not only me)? Are the above repository locations correct?
