Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] DLTK is asking for respin
|
DLTK is ready for respin, and changes summarized here: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=238094
I hope builds are not triggered automatically on CVS changes, so I updated dltk site contribution and waiting for GO/NOGO decision.
Thank you very much,
Andrey

Hi David,
Thank you very much for details. Expected changes do not affect any EPP packages but I'm not sure if respin will affect packages generation process in case if Marcus is building from the staging site. We're siging automatically, and DLTK will be ready for respin by 10 AM Eastern (including local testing and updated contribution). Patch is attached to the bug: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=237987
Markus and projects, if there are any obstacles for seamless respin, please let us know and we'll withdraw in favor of later "emergency fixes" as David suggests.
I'm keeping my eyes on the list and will post as soon as DLTK will be ready for respin.
Thank you,
Andrey

I'd say, from my perspective and my
reading of the "final daze" document we can afford this ripple.
Does it effect any EPP Projects? In
that case it's mostly up to Markus and his schedule.
Also, typically for something like this,
the patch is attached to the bugzilla so we can all see more concretely
what you are going to do.
It would also be nice if you assured
us you'd tried on your local system, and local test update site, and all
worked as expected.
Lastly, I lose track .. is this any
of the bundles that have to be manually signed?! If so ... don't' forget!
Can you finish by, say 10 AM Eastern?
Be sure you keep track of things so you can revert in case some weird
problem surfaces. (Or, simply "withdraw" and we could add "emergency
fixes" in subsequent weeks.).
When you are ready, we'll force a re-build
and hope everyone has kept their sites in order so Ganymede can re-create
it's site.
Once it's finished going to 'staging'
we should re-generate packed jars (which can take a couple hours).
So ... if all that seems feasible to
you, and Marcus doesn't object if you are doing EPP, and you are 100% sure
the fix is simple and safe and won't regress anything else, then I'd say
sure ... give it a go.
Keep us posted on progress via this
list.

for respin |
Hi
There is a problem discovered with DLTK contribution to Ganymede, which
makes installation of DLTK-Mylyn impossible from Ganymede update site (DLTK
requires Mylyn feature, which are not a part of Mylyn Ganymede contribution):
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=237987
If we'd like to have Ganymede update site consistent and self-sufficient
our Mylyn integration feature must be removed or fixed (we have a fix already).
Both operations require respin.
Please suggest if such late respin is allowed.
Thank you,
Andrey
