Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Re: [eclipse.org-planning-council] Europa maintenance

Just to clarify, has everyone agreed to the plan to have all projects push their content to the servers at Thursday noon EDT as the Nick suggested?  So am I to assume that the  the synchronization between the server nodes will be frozen before noon - what time?  A confirmation from the Eclipse foundation would be appreciated :-)

In the past, making a release available without mirror replication has caused the servers and webmasters to overheat so I'd like to avoid that.

If last year is any indication of how this year will go, trying to do
all the promotes on Friday at the same time everyone starts
downloading the Fall Maintenance bits will be madness -- maxed
bandwidth, broken uploads, broken downloads, frustrated users, etc.

Can we implement a Thursday cutoff for mirror synching like we did in
June? That is, +2 projects will have their final bits on the server by
noonish on Thu, so that there's 24hrs for mirror replication before
the public release on Friday.

Are +2 projects ok with losing a day from the schedule?

If so, we should also update the Winter Maintenance schedule to do the same.
