The hard to utilize build in ITSELF is a quality issue.  Please CAREFULLY document the issues you ran into in trying to get the build going; if a developer / QA person assigned to COSMOS cannot get it going easily / quickly, THIS MAY HAVE DOWNSTREAM IMPLICATIONS FOR ADOPTERS…  This falls under our “Facilitation of Adoption” bucket…

 

The way I see addressing this situation is perhaps by better documentation / processes / and perhaps by revisiting the quality process for builds.

I am in the process of sending a mail to the COSMOS-DEV mail list with regards to the I7 Build Doc.  I am going to make some suggestions for improvement.   I can categorically state that there is little chance of anyone getting this to work the first time on a fresh machine.
