Mark,
Thanks
for the mucho rapido reponse…
BOF:
From
a CA perspective, we would present the PoC (and it evolution by then). This
could specifically highlight that we integrated two products that differ in the
following ways:
1. They use totally different
types of stores
2. They come from different technical
eras (one being around for decades and one being relatively newer) and were
built using totally different developmental approaches
3. They have different business
backgrounds (one built internally and the other an acquisition)
And
all these differences notwithstanding, we are able to integrate these two
puppies and put together an over-arching application with relatively little
effort using a STANDARD paradigm. That would be a neat BOF topic… What do you
think? I assume you will present something similar from your end.
Long
Talk:
I
am available the week after Thanksgiving… Over turkey and assorted accompanying
beverages, I will review the long talk materials beforehand; and will come
prepared to collaborate with you starting Nov 26.
Thanks,
Jimmy Mohsin

Jimmy.
Thanks for the
+1.
Poster:
I'll be happy
to take the lead on putting the poster together. I've got an old one
from eclipse con and the eclipse summit that we can use as a starting point.
I'll open an ER so we can track the work. From a mechanics point of
view, what we'll need is a powerpoint document with one slide in it. The
"page size" of the slide will be 2' by 3' or whatever it is.
Printing it out should not be a problem for me b/c we've got a similar
graphics dept.
BOF:
Yes--talking
about Alpo experiences (e.g. eating your own dogfood) is always a good thing.
The BOFs are usually structured as discussions, so I'd like to make sure
we have an adequate number of topics.
Long Talk:
The sooner the
better. How about we start the week after Thanksgiving? Even if we
don't get accepted, I think we can use most of what we develop in
documentation, examples, etc. In my head, this is all work we'd need to
do anyway. Getting a long talk would be even better.

Mark,
First of all, +1….
Now some follow on
questions…
1. Who
will put the poster together? Do you require any assistance from some
graphics design / marketing folks I could get access to?
2. In the
BoF, do you want the companies to share our internal experiences… I could
easily hit the “…discuss
our first hand experience of applying the COSMOS framework to products from our
respective companies” via a PPT or whatever the medium
of choice may be…
3. Last
but not the least… when do you wish to commence on a deep dive working sessions
for the Long Talk?
Thanks,
Jimmy

Subject: [cosmos-dev] Eclipse Con Submissions
Greetings....
The eclipse con deadline is rapidly approaching. I've updated our
proposed submissions on the wiki: http://wiki.eclipse.org/COSMOSEclipseCon2008Presentations
Please take a moment to read each section and make any
modifications/corrections you feel appropriate. If you would like to present
some of the material, then please add yourself to the section on the wiki and
let me know. If you feel I've left off something that we should submit,
please add it to this page.
I plan to create the submissions on the eclipse con site on Friday.
Please respond with a "+1" when you are ok with these. If you
are not ok (with the proposed submissions), then let me know how I can address
your concerns either via e-mail or on the community call tomorrow.
Thanks everyone!!
-mw
p.s. Tania, I looked on the community meetings page and it looks like the
agenda for tomorrow's call has not yet been finalized. I would like to
allocate a few minutes to discuss these in case there are any questions.
