Regarding the landing page, I would very much appreciate your help, Benjamin. It would already be very helpful if you could point us to the right resources and some good examples to look at.
 

You have a git repo [1] dedicated to your project's web site.
There's a starter kit [2] that you can use to make your site look like other eclipse.org websites. More doc on how to setup a local webdev environment is available at [3].
FWIW some (if not the majority) of the Eclipse IoT website are using a custom bootstrap theme to get things like a common nav bar. See e.g. Californium [4] or Kura [5].
