It looks like the .settings directory is a new thing in 4.24M1 of the platform.

See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=479450 for some background. The change was done in https://git.eclipse.org/r/c/platform/eclipse.platform.resources/+/96963

I suppose the appropriate way forward is to update the test case to handle the .settings directory… Would be nice if the error message was clearer than just the number of entries too.

Hello folks,

 

The CDT 10.7.0 development for 2022-06 is now in progress. I recently merged in all the version bumps and updates to build against Eclipse Platform 4.24 M1. I have released this[1] to SimRel for 2022-06 M1 later this week.

 

I have run into a problem. With upgrading to Eclipse Platform 4.24 M1 we have some new CDT test failures. It is exceedingly rare that updating Eclipse Platform version causes an error in CDT, and I don't know if this is just a test error or not yet. If someone has time to investigate and track down the problem, please see details in Bug 579669[2]
