When we move for real we’ll need to have a plan for how much we verify. Doing every commit of course would be impossible. But we’ll need to validate at least
the last few release heads and release tags. How far back should we go? I see vendors using everything from CDT 5.0 forward. Any previous?

Ok, thanks for the info!
But the head of CVS is correctly contained in the git clone, right?
Who knows... AFAIK no one actually verifies that the two are the same.
I've been using the git repository and as far as my working set the clone matches the CVS HEAD. I haven't seen missing changesets. On the other hand omissions are possible like bug
332365. Please, report in bugzilla if you see any. The repository is synced once a day, I think around 1am.
