I would suggest to add a launch option for verbose console output. What do
you think?

I sympathise, but disagree. Having access to the gdb logs is not
something
most users of CDT will want or need. It is something for tool developers
(such as you and I) and thus I don't see any need to clutter/confuse the
interface.
Also, it's not exactly difficult (having found how to do it...) - create
a
file and alias the eclipse command.
