I did post this question on November 11th.

The replies at the time focused on running 2 instances of gdb and 2
instances of Eclipse. The development team asked me to look at running
one instance of Eclipse with a "dual processor" gdb, thus the email. I
was specifically wondering if/how one would get 2 source code trace
windows running in the same project.

However, I just got the following from the gdb boys:

I strongly recommend using two GDB sessions, for now. It's a
long-term
design goal for GDB to be able to debug heterogenous systems, but no
one has been working on it lately, and there's a long way to go.

So maybe the question is mute.
