Subject: [dsdp-dev] Fw: [platform-debug-dev] Flexible Debug Platform
Development Plan for 3.2 M4
We have merged the new "flexible platform" support back to HEAD for
tomorrow's I-build. Development now continues in HEAD. The internal APIs
will be in flux for most of M4, and we'll hope to have some
documentation for interested parties in early M5.

[platform-debug-dev] Flexible Debug Platform Development Plan for
3.2 M4
Debug Developers,
During the course of 3.2 milestone 4, the debug platform will be
undergoing a significant overhaul in order to integrate changes for the
following plan item (support for flexible hierarchy, pluggable update,
asynchronous viewers, etc):
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=106205
Our goal is to release the new platform support to HEAD for the Nov 22
integration build. In order to minimize impact on nightly builds, our
plan
to develop and release the new support is as follows:
* Version HEAD today (v1), and release this to the next integration
build
(Nov 8)
* Merge our prototype implementation of the flexible debug platform into
HEAD and version it (v2)
* Start a new branch for continued development on the flexible debug
platform
* Revert HEAD to (v1), for nightly builds and critical fixes
Main stream development of the debug platform will be done in the
branch.
Only critical fixes will be released to HEAD, and any fixes released to
HEAD must also be placed in the development branch, to ease future
merging. The new branch will tentatively be named "flexible_platform".
