Re: [cdt-debug-dev] CDT debugger features
|
Item 8 is not tied to embedded development at all. Being able to attach
the
Eclipse/CDT debugger to a running process on the desktop is a valuable
feature. Of course, that feature would be equally handy in an embedded
environment, but that's besides the point.
We have a special launch configuration for it - "Attach To Local Process". I
thought you meant attaching to a process using the System Browser.

Mikhail,
Thanks for the initial feedback.
Items 7 (System Browser) is only partially tied to embedded development.
Eclipse "for desktop development" users are debugging an OS, which has
process and threads, which is at least half the focus of the System
Browser.

I won't be attending the Toronto conference, but it's possible someone
else
from Freescale may.

John,
Thanks for your posting, it is very interesting for us. Just a few
comments.
Item 6 (Multiple thread debug context) was dicussed among other issues
at
the DSDP debug meeting in Chicago and it was agreed that the platform
should
provide support for it.
Items 7 and 8 rather belong to the Target Management subsystem. The
proposals are posted to the eclipse.dsdp newsgroup.
Item 9. We have similar requests from our customers.
Item 10 - bug #82078
Item 18 - bug #37845
BTW, are you planning to attend the next DSDP meeting in Toronto?
