For the record: I believe that all that GDB is lacking to properly
support embedded development is bugfixes(lots have been fixed in the
last couple of months), the "idle" mode(ref. earlier posts, and a tiny
bit of added configurability.
I believe my binary snapshot + my few changes is strong evidence that
this is the case.

I want the GDB console to front for Windows/CygWin debgging as well.
