RE: [cdt-debug-dev] remote compilation?

A while back we did something like this on Linux using pmake and
customs, but I can't recall the specifics (this was in 2000 IIRC). I
don't *think* we had to change our makefiles but YMMV. It is available
for most *NIX flavours I think.
Just do a Google for pmake. You can probably trick managed build into
using it over regular make if you do something clever with paths or
symlinks or something. Failing that, you could hack the existing GNU
toolchain definitions to use pmake rather than make. This is left as an
exercise for the reader. (HA! I knew I would get to say that one
day...)
