Re: [cdt-core-dev] CProjectNature - Call for Thoughts

The natures in the CDT are a real mess. As part of separating out the
standard make build from the C nature, I'd like to propose the following
organization for natures in the CDT.

C Nature - the nature for all CDT projects, no builders included
CC Nature - added to handle C++ stuff, no builders
StdMake Nature - added to use the standard make builder
ManagedMake Nature - added to use the managed make builder

I highly recommend the use of natures to mark when your tools should be
applied to a project, including builders. This is the eclipse way. So, for
example, if someone wants to add their own builder, they should be
creating a nature for it.

As part of this, the builders will need to implement a IBuildInfo
interface to allow other tools to extract information about inclusion
paths, etc. I'll add a method to the CCorePlugin to get at this interface
for a given project.

Thoughts?

I did an update, and ran the core.tests JUnit automated suite, and I

Since I didn't see an email on the patch list related to this, so I
thought I'd just send a mail out so that maybe this could magically get
fixed.
