[birt-pmc] Have we done anything on "Community Testing" of new platforms

A few meetings ago we had discussed setting up some wiki pages for people outside of Actuate to test BIRT on other platforms.  The idea was that Actuate would post their test process, and somebody willing to do the testing could post what they tried and what worked and didn't work.

Have we created these pages yet?    I know of one team within IBM that might be willing to do some work on AIX support, and a friend of mine outside of IBM is doing some experimenting with Solaris.

As planning for the June 2008 release (Ganymede?) progresses, I think we ought to raise the platform and software version issue with Eclipse.  There should be a set of supported platforms that all participating Eclipse projects agree to support.  With the amount of inter-dependence between Eclipse projects, letting each project decide on its own will cause more confusion in the community.  An example would be java 5 support in Europa.  BIRT wasn't planning on requiring it, until we were surprised and forced to by WTP and EMF deciding without consulting us.  that isn't good.
