May I suggest that we make both Wim and Scott co-leads? Since we're still in reboot mode, I can just make the appointment. Give me a +1 (each) and I'll make it happen.
I've also added myself a committer for the reboot so that I can help with some of the more procedural stuff. I plan to retire once the project is up to speed.
I'm concerned that the
website has a lot of stale information. I'd like to delete the site and redirect to the
PMI page. We'll keep the repository around so that we can get at the history should we decide later that something should be revived (e.g., the documentation). Give me a +1 and I'll make it happen.
We also need to make some sense of the
downloads page. Everything on that page is so old that I'm thinking that it's best that we just remove it and start over when you've got the build going.
The project is currently EPL-1.0. We need to update this to EPL-2.0. I can take a run at this. It will require updates to all source file headers, so timing is important. Maybe after the maintenance release? In the meantime, I'll initiate a review of the IP state of the project and determine whether or not we need anything reviewed by the IP Team.
As I mentioned in my earlier email, I think that we should just close and archive all Bugzilla bugs and remove the product from Bugzilla, and point folks to the GitHub Issues. Further, I think that we should close all open pull requests. If any pull requests are still viable and contributors are still around, they can pretty easily be reopened. Once the project is back up and building again, we can invite contributors to start opening pull requests to join in the journey forward. Give me a +1 and I'll make it happen.
As part of this effort, we should be working to convert as many contributors into committers as we can.
