Dear BaSyx Community,
We are happy to announce a new snapshot update of our BaSyx images on Dockerhub [1]. This also includes a new version of the BaSyx AAS Web UI and the long-awaited update of the
BaSyx Databridge.
BaSyx can now run on Docker capable embedded devices and industrial controllers (PLCs):
In the past, we focused on scaling up BaSyx for complex and demanding scenarios. This includes the utilization of cloud infrastructure and especially our
Dataspace for Everybody. But making BaSyx available for devices with a smaller footprint is as important. Therefore, from now on we release BaSyx for the
arm/v7 architecture as well.
The following groups of devices are now supported by this update:
- Microcontrollers & Microcomputers (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, …)
- Industrial Controllers & PLCs (e.g. Wago PFC200, SIMATIC IOT, …)
- Edge and IoT devices
- Embedded hardware & network devices
- …
This makes it possible to deploy Asset Administration Shells on the digitally represented devices themselves. This opens up new possibilities for connecting assets such as PLCs
via the AAS. For example, implemented control component Submodels could be used to orchestrate Assets and their capabilities. Or, if you want to start small, devices running BaSyx could describe themselves using Submodels like the digital nameplate or handover
documentation.
New Features, Updates & Bugfixes:
- Release of the BaSyx Dashboard API on GitHub [2]
- Update of OPC2AAS to AAS V3 [3]
- Example for the usage of the BaSyx client libraries for an ERP integration scenario [4]
- Enhancements to the role provider settings for the RBAC feature [5]
- New Databridge release [6]
- Multicast feature [7]
- SQL consumer [8]
As always, if you have questions or encounter bugs, please feel free to report them via the
basyx-dev mailing
list or on our GitHub.
Best regards,
The Eclipse BaSyx team
