[automotive-pmc] Reminder to vote on the Committer Election for Thomas Pfleiderer on Eclipse Automotive API Framework
|
Voting will close on 2026-08-13 for the Committer election of Thomas
Pfleiderer on project Eclipse Automotive API Framework
(automotive.autoapiframework).
Criteria:
[Thomas Pfleiderer (Github profil: tompzf) has been an integral part of the
Eclipse Automotive API project since March 20, 2026. Since joining the
project, Thomas has already contributed approximately one third of all
recorded contributions, reflecting both his strong commitment and his
substantial impact on the project's development.
One of his major contributions (for example
https://github.com/eclipse-autoapiframework/autoapiframework/commit/0b27591526e702967867f6b4c0cbad26591f35eb)
has been driving the project forward through the creation and consolidation
of a comprehensive concept and documentation framework, providing a clear
vision and direction for future development.
His latest contribution, including the update of the project's central
meta-model from Version 2 to Version 3, demonstrates the strategic direction
of the initiative and lays the foundation for broader adoption by additional
partners. This milestone significantly improves the project's architecture
and extensibility, making collaboration easier and more attractive for the
ecosystem.
Furthermore, the quality of the documentation has taken a substantial leap
forward. It not only provides a solid technical foundation but also clearly
communicates the long-term vision: establishing a standardized framework API
that can be shared and adopted across organizations and partners.
As the project lead of the Eclipse Open Vehicle API, Thomas Pfleiderer has
gained valuable experience in open-source governance, community building, and
technical leadership. These skills, combined with the strong synergies
between both projects, enable him to make a significant and meaningful
contribution to the Eclipse Automotive API project.
In addition, Thomas has actively promoted the project to external partners
and stakeholders, helping to increase visibility, foster collaboration, and
attract broader participation from the automotive ecosystem.
