Dear Automotive PMC,
I hope this message finds you well.
We would like to inform you of a significant change in direction regarding our open-source project proposal
for Eclipse LunaDDS ().
Due to evolving perspectives and alignment, unmet assumptions, and shifting priorities, we are unfortunately
unable to maintain the originally proposed characteristics—namely, an automotive-grade implementation in Rust developed from scratch. Instead, we now like
to change the characteristics to an extension to CycloneDDS (written in C), potentially accompanied by a Rust API via an FFI layer, with a focus on automotive applications.
While the scope and nature of the contribution have changed considerably, we are still convinced that this work would be valuable for the Eclipse ecosystem
in the form of an open-source project focused on DDS.
We have reformulated the project proposal and kindly ask you to re-evaluate the revised proposal and provide renewed approval.
Thank you for your understanding and support! I’m available for any questions you may have.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind regards
