Andrew,

 Please note that I am not suggesting to change update site structure, 
but just asking to generate p2 metadata for existing update sites, so 
they would be consumable by p2 installer, ie. integrators won't have to 
host ajdt pieces with generated p2 metadata and those could be installed 
from the original update sites.

 For AJDT project it is basically as simple as running p2 metadata 
generator tool on update site content and publishing generated metadata 
along with the update site.
