Re: [asciidoc-wg] Soliciting input for the 2022 program plan and budget

AsciiDoc WG and projects,

I have prepared a draft of the AsciiDoc WG program plan for 2022. You can find it here:

While we accomplished (or are close to accomplishing) a lot of goals we had set for ourselves in 2021, we didn't get to them all. Therefore, some of those goals we'll carry over into 2022. There are also evergreen goals that will be carried over. Having gone through this once, I now have a better idea of how to plan for the year.

I also proposed some new goals, such as 2-3 initiatives to improve the soon-to-be-released asciidoc.org and to publish a paper with guidelines for writing in AsciiDoc. Two big items that we hope to get to in 2022 that we didn't in 2021 is to make our debut at EclipseCon and to organize the compliance program.

One thing I think we missed when doing the last program plan was just how important managing the brand identity for AsciiDoc is. Therefore, I made more room for it in 2022.

The Eclipse Foundation will put together a budget that supports this program plan.

I plan to hold a vote to ratify this program plan at the upcoming SC meeting next week. If you have concerns about anything stated in the program plan, please propose an alternative, action, or solution. Anyone with the link above can comment on the document.

Best Regards,

-Dan
