[alf-dev] Eclipse ALF POC Schedule Meeting Minutes 2/10

Attendees: Bob Brady @ Segue, John Streiff @ Secure, Tim Buss & Mirinda Lowe
@Serena , Cliff Utstein & Matt Laudato @ AccuRev

Team is finalizing preparations for next Thursday's Demo:

Tim removing the BPEL workaround - 1 remaining issue dealing with the event
batch that should be removed today.

Worked with Bob to make the Segue Service more flexible, allowing the
specification of which tests to run. Now working as planned, with a bit more
flexibility.

Secure finalizing the view for the Scan Results. Will have a page from
Secure to show their results - John's team working on this with Tim.

Issue with the tests not all succeeding once the scan was installed has been
resolved by Segue.

Next Steps After POC:

Start preparing the demo for Eclipse Con in March. Would like to make it
more flexible so you can make more choices from the available actions via
the TT page. Also look to add some additional use cases to the demo to make
it more robust and also to interact with some opensource tools (e.g.
Bugzilla, etc.) We'll discuss this more next week in Thursday's meeting.
Should evaluate putting more error handling in as well.

Team discussed a general design issue where a BPEL flow launches a single
event to 1 of the vendor tools and the vendor tool carries out several
autonomous tasks. An example is the Segue tool launches several different
tasks. How does this get reported back to the Event Manager? Should we
launch several tasks to say that each one has started and one event to say
all tasks completed? Segue is sending back several events to say each task
is completed. This will be valuable for the move forward to allow more
choice over which tasks to run and for ALF future design. Need to have
further discussions around the Event Design. Mirinda will pass this onto
Brian to discuss with the Architecture team moving forward.

Current plan is to have the 1.0 release ready to be approved by Eclipse in
the Fall of 2006. Event Manager may be finalized sooner than that. Will
begin discussing the tasks/plans for this in next Thursday's planning
meeting.

AccuRev is working to download and build the Event Manager using a BPEL
engine and configure a few events to get started. Will provide any
feedback/questions to the team.

For the Planning portion of next Thursday's meeting, teams should come
prepared to discuss ideas for the POC2 in March @ Eclipse Con - possible
additional use cases, Open Source tools to integrate with, etc. Also the V
1.0 release in the Fall. We'll begin planning both during that session.

No meeting next Friday as the team is meeting on Thursday.
