Re: [adoptium-wg] Let the use of Java 17 for MacOS 10.11
|
Hello Tim
>>I will just add that we intend to continue building Java
11 with support for Mac OS 10.11 until at least October 2024
Good to know that! - at least my Mac can breath some extra years
with Java
>>so if you are having problems with Java 17 and STS there
is no rush to move at the moment
At least, so far - seems there are no software asking for Java 17
how minimum requirement.
Thanks for the links.
About the first link: - seems I have
lucky because I use Java 11 in my sister's HP - it has Windows 7
BTW about the second link: for the
unique table available, for the 'Next Release' column, seems all
are wrong, should be 2022? right?
Currently shows 2021. Compare the
'Latest Release' vs 'Next Release' , the
latter has no sense against the former
Thanks for the polite feedback of your
email
Best!

Hi Manuel,
Unfortunately, the build toolchain that Java 17 requires, links
to Mac OS X libraries which are no longer supported on Mac Os
10.11 and so we are unable to support that version.

Hello Developers
I arrived from 'https://adoptium.net

<https://accounts.eclipse.org/mailing-list>'
and seems this group is the correct according the following
request.
Please if is not the correct group or place, let me know.
According with
"https://adoptium.net/releases.html?variant=openjdk17&jvmVariant=hotspot
<https://adoptium.net/releases.html?variant=openjdk17&jvmVariant=hotspot>"
for MacOS and Java 17 - it has the message "macOS 10.14 or
later".
Is possible keep the support for 10.11? It for the "El
Capitan"?
Yes, I use that old version yet. And because I use STS I
already have
problems if I want use Java 17.
Let me know your thoughts
Thanks for your consideration
