Hi,

 

thanks for pointing this library to us. It will be definitly helpfull when we are in need of Sercos suppport. There are a view questions that came up when I looked at the links:

  1. is there a web-page giving an overview on all the components. Sofar the web-page links only redirect to the default sourceforge page.

  2. what is the open source license of the code

Hello developers,

 

according to the Sercos policy of Bosch Rexroth the Sercos Master solution

will be continued to be supplied as an Open Source Software project to the Sercos community.

 

·         Recently (December 2015) the emulation layer of the Sercos Master FPGA SERCON100M had been released on SourceForge.

·         This is the bottom level component of the Sercos SoftMaster.

·         The next level is CoSeMA, the Common Sercos Master API, that is a long term available component at SourceForge and adds the passive encapsulation library of the Sercos functionality.

·         The third level is the Sercos III active stack, that provides user level functionality of

o    Sercos communication phase control

o    configuration of the network

o    parametrization of devices

o    handling of cyclic data transfer etc.

in a very handy manner. This layer is still under approvement but is available for evaluation (B-prototype) from Bosch Rexroth (mailto:Sercos@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) as a fully working package. This component is planned to reach C-prototype level in Q4/2016 and can be used for production or execution environments then.

·         The whole package comes with an abstraction layer to support Windows or Linux (non-realtime) or Linux RT-Preempt, QNX Neutrino, VxWorks, Windows EC, INtime and RTX (realtime).

·         The comfort is perfect with a ready-to-run alphanumeric menu to start as soon as the integration into the OS and HW platform is done. Examples for manual control

o    Switch Communication phases

o    Start network with automatic configuration of the detected devices

o    Start network with a binary configuration

o    Read/Write parameters

o    Issue procedure commands

o    etc.
