MQTT? [message #1611760] Wed, 11 February 2015 15:50 Go to next message

Hi folks,

just wondering if the current available source of Om2m comes already with MQTT protocol support.
If not, how difficult would it be to integrate the Moquette project that already comes bundled for OSGI? Reading from the readme in github (sorry, I cannot post external links) the authors say: "Starting from version 0.6 Moquette is OSGi compliant". The question is: how difficult is its integration into Om2m (given that I'm not a software guru)?

Thx
M

Hi Massimo,
I'm Andrea Selva the committer of Moquette MQTT broker. It should be quite easy, just drop the bundle and it start itself, the activator class do the start and stop of the service. But from version 0.7-SNAPSHOT I've changed some dependencies and I'm experiencing some problems with OSGi bundling,I'll fix for the final release.

Thanks
Andrea

Hi all,

as far as I'm concerned, the MQTT broker is NOT implemented/included in om2m.
Instead, and following the docs: https://wiki.eclipse.org/OM2M/one/MQTT_Binding
what you should do is to deploy the MQTT broker separetely (i.e. mosquitto) and CONFIGURE the om2m framework to connect to it.

Hope it helps,
Cheers,
