I've had some really weird java problems lately. I previously had to abandon using the system installed java after a company update (they repack the java installer in some unknown way), and download java, store it somewhere the IT department can't find it and edit eclipse.ini to use that javaw.exe instead.

At that time, eclipse died during startup with java error 13 (sorry, don't have a screen dump available, but it was Eclipse that reported the error through a dialog that seemed to be generated during the startup)

Today all of a sudden, I can't start my Eclipse any longer, also after some unknown system update by the IT department. See the attached file for details.

After reverting from 64-bit Eclipse to 32-bit, I can start Eclipse again.

And even more weird, after some time, my 64-bit version did start again.

Can anybody understand the hieroglyphics of the log file?

Is using the 32-bit version "better" (i.e. has anyone experienced similar issues with BIG COMPANY updates where 64-bit Eclipse is used)?

Regards,
Tomas Sandkvist
