eclipse hangs while traying to connect to internet [message #267660]

Hi,

I'm runnig eclipse 3.4 on Linux (32-bit arch). My ISP is probbably
blocking some ports which (i think) couse that eclipse hangs whenever i
try to open any file like *.py from pydev perspective for example and at
once being connected to the internet. i tried diffrent jre like
java-6-openjdk, java-6-sun, java-1.5.0-sun, java-gcj. it seems also, that
the same thing affects eclipse-3.2

so maybe there is some way to prevent eclipse connecting to the internet
even if it actually has opportunity?
