BIRT 2.2.1.1 won't work without Cairo on Solaris [message #264538] |

I have an application with working BIRT charts on Solaris/Sparc/Motif
under Eclipse 3.2.1 with BIRT 2.1, using the "-DR31ENHANCE=false" VM flag,
since I don't have the Cairo graphic library.
I upgraded to Eclipse Europa 3.3.1.1 with BIRT 2.2.1.1 and now the
application's BIRT charts don't work! Everything else works correctly.
I've run across a couple of bug reports that seem to indicate potential
problems with SWT not respecting the R31ENHANCE flag, but the bugs are for
SWT 3.1, which is *prior* to the working Eclipse 3.2.1 installation, so
I'm not sure if those bugs are still valid.
Unfortunately, in our customer's environment (government), I can't
guarantee that Cairo will be installed, so I really need a non-Cairo
solution.
Before I submit a bug, does anyone know what happened between these
releases that might explain this?

I believe this flag should still work, so it looks like a bug to me.
Thanks,
