Killing folded code "tooltip" [message #261943]

the damn things are called "hovers"
--> Window -> Preferences
type hover in type filter text

uncheck the checkbox "combined hover" or add a key binding by selecting
the entry and typing the key in the textfield below

OK - I got what you mean. All other hover types seem to be affected by
the hover settings except those folded areas...

Maybe you could write a bug report? This seems to be an eclipse platform
issue, not for CDT.

But I have this theory about organisations which require registration just
to enter a bug report, so I won't. Sorry.

That's OK; I have this theory about people who refuse to contribute back
to the community that has given them a useful tool for free. I won't
help them or answer their questions. Sorry.

Jeez, what do you think someone is going to do with your email address?
Maybe they'll use Google analytics to track what other software you use
and web sites you visit and then send email to your boss to let him know
you are not working your full 8 hours per day. Or maybe Eclipse wants to
steal your identity... yeah, that's it - Eclipse is just a front for a
Russian mafia organization that is extorting the poor sops who register
in Bugzilla. And Apache, Mozilla, RedHat are all in on it, too.

Give me a break...

No one said you were obligated to anything. What I said was that if
you're not willing to take the simple step of entering a bug or request
into Bugzilla, don't expect to get help with this free, open-source tool
on this free, volunteer-based forum.

Open-source only succeeds when it is a 2-way street.
