There may be something with working sets, which I do not use. Also,
right-clicking on a project will give you a context menu several of
whose items allow you to close the project (and its files), close
unrelated projects (and their files), etc.
Then, there is what I use, the workspace. I don't keep dissimilar
projects (Android vs. JEE, etc.) in the same workspace (though I could).
If I absolutely want all of them up at the same time so I don't have to
change workspaces (which is mildly annoying because somewhat time
consuming), then I run multiple instances of Eclipse and switch between
workspaces. (Realize that I run Linux, which does this much better than
Windows, that I have lots of memory and that I have two 30" monitors,
each 2560x1600 pixels and therefore much real estate to spread multiple
instances of applications across.
I know this doesn't answer your question the way you want it to be answered.
