Hi Bob,

I use the ModelUtil.setValue() method to set the target of a DataAssociation which already have a source set. I noted that after the call to ModelUtil.setValue(), the ItemDefinition of the source is forced to the one of the target.

Is it a BPMN2 requirement to have both the source and target of a DataAssociation to point to the same ItemDefinition ? If this is the case, how can we do a transformation between 2 different structures ?

I looked into the DataAssociationPropertiesAdapter, and the implementation of the setSourceRef() and setTargetRef() seems to be where the itemSubjectRef attribute of the source/target ItemAwareElement are forced.
