Hi all,
Before I start the question, some background knowledge should be provided:
I'm currently working on visualization for EATOP using Sirius, EATOP is an eclipse modeling project which can be found here:https://www.eclipse.org/eatop/
In EATOP, there is EASTADL file, an EAST-ADL model file contained in EASTADL project.(More info about EAST-ADL could be found http://east-adl.info/Specification/V2.1.12/html/index.html).
In EATOP, EASTADL file(*.eaxml) is generated and serialized from its ecore model. This serialization makes the .eaxml file to be not well format for Ecore. It could only be opened by its own EAST-ADL Editor and EAST-ADL explorer. When I open this file with Sample Reflective Editor, error shows as follow:
And of course, there won't be any options when I try to connect the viewpoint with this .eaxml model file. The same situation is also discussed in https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/594525/, while I would insist that there is no problem in the model side, but the problem is how to adjust sirius to be able to compatible with those not ecore standard model(customized model)? Could I hard code to make it skip the viewPoint selection part and force the newly defined viewPointProject getting connection with this model Project? Or is there any other way to do this?
Anyway, Sirius is a great graphical tooling indeed, and I guess by making it support other eclipse modeling projects could be even better.

I'm not sure to understand what is your file format and what is actually
your problem.

What do you mean? EcoreTools2 is already based on Sirius for example...
