Shouldn't the EPL be the reigning license by now? [message #23823] Tue, 30 August 2005 19:52 Go to next message

I ask because I was under the impression due to the CPL to EPL
transition doc that all new dev streams pass 12/31/2004 were to be
licensed under the EPL, however it has come to my company's legal
department's attention that that isn't the case. AspectJ, AJDT and
possibly others are still shipping and displaying the CPL. So is this
an oversight which should be fixed asap or were there exceptions made to
the transition plan that I have missed?

So I've looked into this and I guess I would have to say that this is your
basic, run-of-the-mill, screw-up. Mea culpa. The AspectJ team isn't quite
ready to switch to the EPL and we are working with them now to get that
fixed ASAP. My apologies.

As soon as we have a concrete plan in place for which dates and stream will
be EPL-based, I will let everyone know.

Thanks very much for the prod.
