Hello,

lately I was trying out the new progress implementation for e4.

First of all I want to ask you, do you know if this is the final version for Eclipse 4.4?

Second, I was trying out to introduce a new and custom progress dialog (modal dialog which is blocking the complete application without a "run in background" button) and I realized that I am not able to access the ProgressManager (because it's internal) to add a progress listener.

It would be great to get some more information about the progress component for e4.

The e4 progress view is still in a beta form, and is not released with
Luna (4.4).

It still needs work, which will hopefully happen in Mars (4.5). You can
contribute or offer comments on

Any news on this topic?

I'm still missing the org.eclipse.e4.ui.progress plugin in the Oxygen 4.7 Update Site.

I notices that the version jumped from 0.1 to 0.2 in the master branch https://github.com/eclipse/eclipse.platform.ui/tree/master/bundles/org.eclipse.e4.ui.progress
