I'm tryin to run the latest release of Eclipse on my Debian operating
system. When I try to start the program I receive an error message about a
shared library:

"error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory"

I've never had any troulbe running Eclipse on my Debian Linux box before
this, although they may have added a dependency in this latest version.

I've already sent an e-mail about this problem to the Debian User mailing
list. One of the people on that list indicated that the
libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 was part of the libgtk2.0-0 Debian package. I have the
most recent version of libgtk installed on my Debian operating system,
which is later than the 2.0 version.

Is this what is causing my problem? Is there a way to fix this besides
backtracking my computer to use the older libgtk pacakge?

Thanks,

Scott Huey
