Hi, I'm researching GEF as a possible tool for our project. We have to create
a simlation UI that will allow the user to place elements and assigne a path
to them. I've done the mindmap tutorial with success and liked the results,
but I was wondering if there anyone sees a problem of creating this type of
app with GEF.

My question is that the waypoint in a path that an element must follow,
should be X,Y as oppsosed to UML or other diagrams where position is only
important within bounderies of components at most.

Should I use the XYLayout as placement for waypoints? Also, any ideas and
suggestions on how to create a element and then "attach" it to a path that
has several waypoints?

Thanks, and sorry for the cross posting!
