Hello.

I installed the "WST XML Editors and Tools" in the hope that I get
highlighting and some other features (like automatic indention,
automatic text completion on end tags, and so on) in the normal text
editor. The XML Editor is quite nice, but I still prefer looking at the
text.
Does someone know of a plugin or a way to enable such a XML text editor
within Eclipse?

Cheers,
Kai

You may already have it. When you see the xml editor opened, is it a
"design view" ... tree and columns? If so, look a the bottom and you'll
likely see a "source" tab.

That was a dumb question. It really is there (computer screens are so
big today ;-). And a very good source editor, too.

Thanks.

Not at all. It's been asked several times on this list, and for each
time asked, I'm sure there's 20 people who wasted time finding it before
they did.

We used to have 'source' as the default, but some people didn't like
that ... It'd be nice to find some way to make it more obvious there
were multiple pages ... but no one has thought of a way so far.

Move the tabs to the top of the screen instead of along the bottom. ECF
does this with their IRC Client. I know traditionaly editor tabs have
been in the bottom of eclipse Multipage editors, but people tend to miss
them.
