Forceing help system to use local info [message #220431] Sat, 10 December 2005 16:17 Go to next message

Hi all,
when using Eclipse I keep the help window located at the RHS of my main
window,
and when the Java editor's cursor is over a Java class name such as
"String" the first item in the help window changes to "Javadoc for
'java.lang.String'". Clicking on this always leads to
"http://sun.java.com/etc.." i.e. the help system needs to have access to
the internet to bring up this help. If I'm working without internet
access, it would be nice if Eclipse would use the Javadocs from the j2sdk
located at "c:\java\j2sdk1.5.03\etc...String.html". Anyone know how to
make this work?
,Philip

Forget it,
found an answer:
looking at the properties of any given jar of the jre in the JRE node of
any project shows the javadoc location to be http://sun.etc.etc...
change this to file://c:/java/jdk15...etc.etc.
