Hi,
did anyone install the latest Ganymede Release (RC3) and then try to
update the CDT feature (via master zip or update page)?
Ganymede RC3 comes with CDT 20080530 but I want to update to a newer
version (20080611) because I have have severe problems with the gdb
Debugger (gdb terminates very often if application crashes). If I perform
the update I can see that the plugins and features directory are filled
with the new version. However, when I restart Eclipse the About Page still
shows the old installation (CDT 20080530) and the new features are removed
from the features directory on my harddrive!!!

If I make the features directory read-only Eclipse will not delete the new
features but still use the old CDT version (20080530).
The log say something like this:
