Hi there!
Before submitting an enhancement request... anyone knows if there's an
hidden option in Preferences view to set the "nillable" property of an
XSD element??? I hardly believe it is not present...
Cheers,
Mauro.

Mauro, you are correct it is not there. All other options are available
through the Advanced tab of the Properties View, but nillable is not one
of them.
You can add it in the source view, via content assist (CTRL+SPACE) when
in the xsd element.
I've opened the following bug for this enhancement:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=209356
Please feel free to add your comments to that as well.

I've created an initial patch for this bug, may do a bit of tweaking
with it to make sure it's only enabled when it can be used, and that
initial values are being set correctly.

Hi Keith,
I meant a field in the properties view.
Thanks David for the patch!
Cheers,
Mauro.
