Problem adding WebSphere Server Runtime [message #201902] Thu, 11 October 2007 17:53

Hello,

I am trying to set up a new Server Runtime with a Websphere 6.1 Server. I
go to Window > Preferences > Server > Installed Runtimes > Add > WebSphere
v6.0.

Once I click next I always get the error "Missing classpath entry
\your_server_root\was-6.0\properties". Even if I change the installation
directory there is always a "Missing classpath entry..." error. We've
installed all of the WebSphere server adapters and Eclipse plugins.

Any thoughts as to what could be wrong?

Ultimately, we're trying to build a web service to run on WebSphere 5.1.
Since the WebSphere runtimes are compatible, a 6.0/6.1 runtime will run on
5.1. I also see an option for using WAS Community Edition. Any experience
using this server? Can you use this runtime to run apps on WAS 5.1 or 6.1?

Thank you. I greatly appreciate the help!
-Josh
