My project has requirement of packages definitions export/import in
customizable XML/XMI what I would like also to propose. Even more it should
be done on the fly. That is simply what existing Workflow designer do.
So, workflow elements should be defined and added to package area/side bar
from where drag and dropped to process area where associated frames/windows
for semantic data are filled.
Workflow process definition may be saved/loaded locally from hard disk,
imported/exported as one merged XML file
Then concerning the phrase:
"Import of valid XML process definition and its graphical representation"
I think that process definition consists of 2 parts:
- graphical/notation data
and
- semantic data
My project requirement is that it should be deployed/uploaded and downloaded
back to Designer as one XML file.
So, here arises the task of merging (for/before deployment/upload to
server/engine) and separating after downloading (from server/engine) these
representations
So, for package area/side-bar the elements are defined as:
- graphical definition +
- emprty associated graphical definitions templates of elements for
introducing semantic data;
while in the process area they are the same, through drag-and-dropping and
may be in this way multiple instances of that package template element but
also with already (partially) filled data. In that graphical associated
element/frame should be some kind of "Add" option/button.
Or it can be done through property/view from Exlipse.
What do you think?
